IRS-Aided Wireless Relaying: Deployment Strategy and Capacity Scaling
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this letter, we consider an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-aided wireless relaying system, where a decode-and-forward relay (R) is employed to forward data from source (S) destination (D), aided by M passive elements. We two practical IRS deployment strategies, namely, single-IRS all elements are mounted on one single that deployed near S, R, or D, and multi-IRS the allocated over three separate IRSs which respectively. Under line-of-sight (LoS) channel model, characterize capacity scaling orders with respect increasing for IRS-aided system different strategies. For deployment, show deploying R achieves highest as compared S D. While propose cooperative beamforming design analytically shown achieve larger order than (i.e., S/D) when sufficiently large. Numerical examples provided, validate our theoretical results.

Quasi Random Deployment Strategy for Reliable Communication Backbones in Wireless Sensor Networks
Topology construction and topology maintenance are significant sub-problems of topology control. Spanning tree based algorithms for topology control are basically transmission range based type construction algorithms. The construction of an effective backbone, however, is indirectly related to the placement of nodes. Also, the dependence of network reliability on the communication path undertak...
متن کاملWireless Sensor Networks Scaling and Deployment in Industrial Automation
This project performs analyses and simulation of a comprehensive wireless sensor network for the Industrial Automation application. Utilizing the WirelessHART architecture, the proposed network consists of 1 million motes within an area of 10 km. Each mote contains a single sensor, which samples vibration, pressure, temperature, flow, tank level, or corrosion. This project creates an end-to-end...
متن کاملCapacity-Delay Scaling in Arbitrary Wireless Networks
Gupta and Kumar (2000) studied capacity scaling in random wireless networks with n nodes under the protocol interference model. They showed that the per source-destination pair capacity scales as Θ(1/ √ n logn) when n distinct random source-destination pairs communicate simultaneously. For the same setup, El Gamal, Mammen, Prabhakar and Shah (2004) showed that the delay scales as Θ( √ n/ logn)....
متن کاملCapacity scaling in large wireless networks
We consider networks consisting of nodes with radios, and without any wired infrastructure, thus necessitating all communication to take place only over shared wireless medium. We focus mainly on the flat fading channel model. We study capacity scaling laws in such systems when the number of nodes gets large. We show that in extended networks (network with constant density of users) capacity sc...
